this is a year of Entrepreneurship for me which I plunged in with a leap of faith plus some love and support from myself, families and friends. Many people asked me how the hell I managed to do so many things concurrently?! I would say for the passion of life.

If you think about it, life is short and unpredictable, you really don’t know when your time is up to surrender your NRIC. With that in mind, I guessed how I live each phase of my life, is really to live to its fullest and the best. Most importantly, with the blessing of universe, self, families and friends, the journey is much more enjoyable with their company.

OMDress is born out of my wedding where my partners are my bridesmaids. It is beautiful how we managed to get all things started and had our launch recently on Oct 20, 2011. Life Planner @ Great Eastern

Well, this part of the journey is rather unexpected for me. I must say I have certainly grown in becoming more and more financial-savvy each day. That is a very important skillset which I would love to impart my children next time.

Previously I attended a CPF talk before, a professor was sharing how she taught her kids the concept of money, budget, choice, opportunity cost. At different phase of their lives for example, secondary school or junior college, she would get her kids to present her with their financial budget for their allowance of that year. Once they missed the deadline of presentation, too bad! Suffer the consequence on not having any rise in allowance. My hubby and I were discussing how it was such a good way to train your kids to learn about managing money at such a young age. However it was from academic perspective. Imagine how would a businessman teach his kids? Perhaps they might be trained to how to multiply their money with the given amount.

Importance of parenting… as I grow up and better each day, I would love to impart that to my children in future. For the time being, before that day arrives, I shall share with people whom I care and gonna care. No point hoarding to the information and knowledge unless you share it and benefit more people, isn’t it?

Awesome! I closed my first policy during my first week! The feeling of helping my friends to get a peace of mind for themselves really make me think all the effort put in, is all worth it.

Well, this is another amazing journey that I stumbled into. Definitely something which I plucked up my courage to pursue a long-forgotten dream hidden somewhere in my sub-conscious mind. I began this journey with my all-timed buddy Dionis…and we went on a road of discovery about ourselves. I really enjoy the stage, making people laugh, seeing the happiness in their eyes, just make me feel is all worth it! haha.

Really very thankful for all the opportunities given from Zoom! Academy, Mr Ckay Lim! I’m sure more to come…*whisper Mediacorp Channel 5 and 8! hehe!

Of cos I couldn’t do this without the blessing and support from my hubby, Simon to do whatever I did. That’s why I’m married to him! I guessed we just know how to test each other at different points of our relationship to see how we respond to such stunts from each other. I’m really grateful to My hubby for all that he has done for me to allow me to pursue my dreams. Thank you dear for believing in me. You are the wind beneath my wings as I soar the sky.

Each of us has a special set of gifts, it will take sometime to unfold itself. It will certainly take some courage to acknowledge that it is there no matter how much you deny it. And finally when you just make that baby step forward, the rest of it just unfolds itself.

How times flies! Been back in Singapore to this reality for almost a month or so. Simon & I decided to treat ourselves to Western USA for a solid honeymoon getaway for 2 weeks. Furthest trip we ever had in our lives so far. Why western USA? Cos he wanted to see Grand Canyon. I wanted to see Disneyland and Universal Studio, I’m such a child at heart. ehem!

We had a group tour of 31 people, thank goodness they are very kind and friendly people so we got along pretty well. We traveled to Los Angelas, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

What I really like about Los Angelas:

1) Universal Studio!!!

I loved the Studio Tour, superb. We sat in the tramp and traveled to different attraction spots to see how Hollywood made their movie, visited the different sound stages and production set. Being a newbie in the acting world, I got really excited to see how the big screen play do their shows. How they stimulated flood scenes, earthquake, airplane crash, car crash and etc. My jaws dropped onto the floor most of the time. haha. “Mountain tortise” mah! And the 3D king kong was fantastic, it felt real.

Another highlight was the irritating Haunted Mansion which I really got scared the shit outta me. Real life monsters waiting and hiding at one corner..some dark corner trying to scare you. I almost freaked out. By the time I came out of the mansion, my hair was in a mess.

As for Disneyland which boasted to be the happiest place on earth, it was really kids-friendly ride which we were kinda bored and sleepy due to jet lag. Then we took a ride called Splash Mountain in attempt to wake ourselves up cos we had to sit inside this “container” where both of us were the first 2. It was something like the Haw Par Villa ride we had long time ago, but this time much much higher..like 50 feet..We were splashed with so much water, drenched! Really woke us up man!

Another special highlight near Los Angelas, was my favorite Yosemite National Park. I love this man natural waterfalls and awesome scenery!

What I like about San Francisco:

The highlight over here was the Golden Gate Bridge. Check this out!

But I love the Cheesecake Factory more..yummy!!! Eat and be MERRY! Who cares about weight loss?! LOL!

What I like about Las Vegas:

The ultimate highlight was the Grand Canyon!!! It was magnificent. Truly one of the seven wonders man. We took the helicopter ride and boat ride for our Grand Canyon tour. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGggggggg! Beyond words…

Of cos we still have our sinful casinos..which we managed to win a couple of hundreds. Lucky us!

The most enjoyable activity which I didn’t manage to take any pictures was actually the Factory Outlets shopping. I was too busy shopping so I didn’t manage to take any pictures! Warning, you will lose your senses when you saw tons of things calling out to you to buy, so cheapppppp! For eg, Levis jeans, CK jeans cost less than USD $30-50. Coach bags..which I bought too many and I had to sell some away. haha. Really shop till you drop. Like what my hubby said, it’s honeymoon, it’s meant to spend one so we spend! haha.

All I can say is…USA rocks!!!

Then after that we transited over at Taipei and our group ran over to Taoyuan market for some freaking Chinese food cos we grew so sick of daily breakfast where you ate gang dang aka potatoes most of the time. Mee sua, pudding bubble tea and etc just felt so good. OMG! Simple and so gooooooddddd. End this honeymoon with a beautiful note at Taiwan!

Very blessed that I had all the major events in my life happened smoothly and happily. Really counting my blessings with Simon. Glad that my family and friends gave their blessings to us too.

May we attract more good things and good people into our lives. HUAT AH!!!

29 May 2011 was a day where we paid tribute to our most respected parents for the love and care they showered on us since young. This wedding was not just about Simon & I but about both Tan and Goh Family coming together as a big family. We were here to witness the union of these two families.

I’m very present to the love shown to me throughout this journey from preparation till the end, everyone get themselves involved and wanted to contribute in making this day a success. I’m so blessed to have these people in my life, I would say I must have cultivated a lot of merits previously huh!

For those who didn’t know what happened, here’s a short recap of what happened!

This was an unforgettable battle between 糖果帮 VS 玉女帮. Would the 糖果帮老大 able to go against all odds set by 玉女帮老大姐 and finally win the heart of the lady? Stay tuned to find out more! Get ready for a good laugh!

We held our Chinese wedding dinner at Teochew City Seafood Restaurant. The food was awesome, feedback from my guest. I didn’t really get to eat cos I was so busy moving about.

Both Simon and I were very happy on the outcome of the wedding where everyone enjoyed and had fun together. Most importantly, great food! haha.

Next up, we’ll be heading off to Western USA for our honeymoon. Can’t wait!!!

We had a solemnisation party at Suntec city NUSS Graduate Club. The theme of the night was “Love is in the air”. It was a fun-filled and loving evening where we had our family and friends to witness this special event.

I had the most amazing time of my life, my hubby and I decided that we ought to have a very different, interactive and fun party for ourselves and our guest.

A snapshot of what happened:

It all began with the guests filling up a heart shape note where they are invited to write what does LOVE means to them. The best note will be rewarded with spa vouchers sponsored by us.

The party got much crazier with the endless games and entertainment! The main highlight of the games was to hand-pick 5 handsome bachelors to win the hearts of the ladies. The handsome bachelors would have to go through different challenges from physical to intellectual. With the 5 gorgeous ladies as the judges, they get to vote and select their top bachelor of the night. Thank goodness, I’m just watching them and focus on laughing with the audience!

Then, the ultimate game was for the me bride to identify which of the 5 hairy legs belongs to my hubby. That’s not all! The bride’s sister presented a series of popular Jazz songs to the newly wed. A sweet surprise from me where I dedicated “我愿意” to my hubby.

Last but not least, the final finale ended with a sizzling HOT Belly dance performance by one of the sisters. Trust me, it was visually entertaining! :p

- Getting into marriage conversation with Simon.Preparing all the major stuff for our next phase of lives. From planning of our wedding to renovation of our flat to buying our new flat..huge changes and growth! Our short trips to Cambodia and Batam

Generally, I’m very impressed with Taiwan.

1. transportation system (bus, mrt and bullet train are easily accessible and bring convenience to you. The Taoyuan airport was pretty old and kinda run-down. The high speed rail station was impressive tho.. Look much better.

2. their service attitude is awesome! The way they talked is like so gentle and non- sales pushy type. Really encourage you to patronize them. You get that sense that they are genuine in servicing you and value-add by sharing the events happening near the vicinity. They are helpful in providing road directions too. You will just melt when they talk.. Super gentle and welcoming!

3. Retail outlet presentation is welcoming and packaging of their products are good. Just make you wanna buy them with very reasonable price.

4. Clean toilets! I feel safe using them! Hehe

5. Great street food!!! Yummy Yogurt bubble tea, fresh and thick pieces of sashimi were all at very affordable prices! Oyster mee sua, black pig sausage and 甜不辣！ try the popiah style of ice cream wrap. pretty clean.. So you can go taste it. Very similar taste buds like singaporeans.

6. Awesome scenery at outskirts like sun moon lake, kenting and jiu fen. Bring along your camera. But be prepared to walk to capture those shots.

Thrilled to visit the night markets with my family who can really taste and try all sorts of food except smelly tofu. Our strategy is to order one portion of food from the stalls and we shall share the calories. Not forgetting we’ll walk and walk to walk it out. Hehe.

Will meet up with Andrew who is there on exchange. Omg he better come to eat with us cos he can really eat a lot and don’t grow fat type. Disgusting! Haha. Then we can taste more food. Hehe! It’ll be cool to visit their Ktv or music pubs which is something I’m keen to explore.

Ahhhh I’m so excited! Food, company, shopping and scenery! Wheeee.

Wedding preparation:
It has been a crazy period from the wedding preparation, nailing down venues for my actual day and ROM, bridal studio, photography, videographer, guest list and etc. Soon, it is going to be our new bridal home, renovation and new furniture purchase.

Sound really cumbersome huh! I guess it is part of growing up process to experience different phase in your life. It has many lessons to teach me and him.

Responsibility, commitment, expansion…these are unfolding bit by bit. It can be pretty confronting at times when you visit such conversations.

I was asked this question, why do people want to get married?

My take on this is an expansion of self to extend yourself to another’s person world, where it is not just only you need to manage the events in your world, but also his world and OUR world.

The relationship is not because you need him, he needs you which sometimes people mistake it as the basis of love. You don’t need each other, two perfect humans who love themselves, complete and whole as you are, decided to form a union, to evolve and grow out of you. That’s how they can forward each other growth. And in the union, more ugly things about self is uncovered, the clashes in your values, beliefs, perspective, style of doing things, habits and attitude, etc. They are challenged. It depends on both parties whether are they able to work out the differences and agree on something both they are happy with.

Acting:

I’m in the midst of attending my level 2 TV acting course which also include stage acting. It has been an enriching experience so far. So much to learn and grow and understand the different roles you’re playing. A totally different game here. Life is about expression who you are. Somehow the abundance energy flow within you into something else. Pretty amazing. Still exploring and discovering. So let’s see how this goes.

Roots preservation programme:

After seeing less and less people knowing how to speak dialect, I think it will diminish in the long-run when we have our kids generation where they probably just speak English and Mandarin. There goes our dialects… Even though I grew up in a Teochew family, speaking Teochew was like my first ‘language’, I do have issue pronouncing some of the terms. Hence, I decided to look for a Teochew association to join and take basic Teochew lessons from them. Learn from the PRO! haha. Kinda excited about how that goes. Will start class this Thursday. ;p

Career transition:

I have just moved on to AMEX, it has been an eye-opening experience so far to see the scale and processes they are running. That is definitely going to expand my world and framework..and things in which I look at things in time to come. Looking forward to the growth I have in here.

It has been a really blessed journey so far and grateful for the good things happening in my life right now.

What you need to do is to be daring to ask and collect your delivery when your order is here. And when it is here, make sure you have the capacity and ability to hold it for a period.

But then again, life is impermanent. SoI shall attempt to take things with a pinch of salt. Clinging on to the attachments will just bring you misery to your life. What for? We’re humans that’s why we haven’t break out of it, so in the meantime, we somehow use that to spice up our already hectic lives with such drama, isn’t it? Theoretically speaking, we all know. But it is just so hard when you’re in it.

It will take awhile before you grew tired and sick of your own drama.

I read some quote before, if you’re suffering at this moment, don’t worry. It’ll pass. If you’re enjoying this moment, enjoy while it last cos’ it’ll pass. Whether you like or don’t like this moment you’re in, they will all pass. Who cares whether you like it or not, it will just pass. Take comfort that at least we still have the ability to choose sometimes in the life situation we’re in.
