Bus journey

Since young, I kinda like going on long bus journey in Singapore or to malaysia. That is usually a good time for reflection or for writing down your thoughts without any pressure of time. But as I enter adulthood, I don’t quite do it. Rushing from one place to another.

What I like about the journey is the amount of things you get to see as you past by…. The plants growing at the road side, birds flying across the sky, the beautiful sky with fluffy clouds…just taking a moment to enjoy this at a much slower pace.

That’s an enjoyment too.

At different point in our lives, we somehow entered different interchange, met different passengers, bus drivers, conductors, bus captains, cleaners, food stall aunties and uncles. We usually stay there for a little while before we take the next bus to our next destination. Things got pretty much settled down, you built friendship or even another family through your stay. Some people grew attached to the place and people or may have found what they want to do through that channel, hence, chose to stay there for a long time. Others may be frustrated why the bus they want is not here yet, watching others leave to their destination.

I guess is a matter of time. As the saying goes, when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Modified version – when you are ready, your bus will come for you. Whether to hop on, that’s a separate issue, just don’t regret you didn’t board the bus in the end. It will come, maybe for some might not be bus, how about train or aeroplane? Heh.

Whoppie!!! I passed my driving, can finally drive on the road. Just beware of me cos I’m a newbie! Just had my driving test yesterday, purposely took leave for that. Had lesson in the morning and warm up in the afternoon at ubi driving centre. It was freaking scary .. I guessed nervousness has came to visit me. And there I was focusing on my breathing. But when I breathed too hard, my car kissed the kerb. Luckily the total points I got detucted was less than 18. Phew! What a relief!

I’m waiting for my license to arrive and waiting for my cousin to donate her p plate to me. Hehe.

My mum was saying if I pass, she’ll treat me to a good dinner. Think my family was surprised that I passed. Hehe. My siblings were busy updating me on what to look out for prior to the test. My bro was super sweet to drive me to my test venue. So touched!

P/s: I can blog easily from iPhone from now on. It is really cool!

Hi all, with the recent launch of iphone 3Gs which I have waited for awhile. I was filled with excitement to go get it on a friday night after work. But when I reached there, there was a super duper long queue. And I thought probably I had pre-ordered so there might be a separate queue. OMG! There was a queue but everyone seemed to have pre-ordered! Estimated 4 hours of wait! My sis and mum wanted to meet me there to pick me up which we have all innocently thought, how long that would take to pick up a phone right especially since I have pre-ordered. OMG! We were so wrong. It was 4.5 hours of wait, and we have toured around Singtel building and served with desert, junk food and water which was quite a good tactic to calm the crowd down. But well expectations increased as we went through the different waiting area. Behind each curtain, there was another massive queue. You can kill me man! omg! Hopefully we can have our product delivered to our door step next time.

I guessed it’s a super good publicity for Singtel where people crazily waited for their turn to get their iphone 3Gs. Well, sometimes we just have to do certain things in life for once will do. This iphone 3Gs better last me for a real long long time. But I must say it is a pretty smart phone. My first time to switch from Nokia to iphone. Time for a change. Furthermore I had another $100 off for the phone cos I’m from Starhub. So I’m going to pay just $188 for my new phone. Pretty impressed with Singtel’s marketing of this phone and how they have gotten consumers to pre-ordered online and the user journey was pleasant and simple. At least I won’t feel frustrated while I place my order.

This phone launch promotion must have taken away a lot of customers from M1 and Starhub. Wonder what measures the other two telcos going to do.

Pretty excited about my data bundle once I switched over to Singtel. And still exploring other features on the phone.

Till then,

My durian trip!!!

Hey everyone,
I’ve went on 1 day trip to Johor area to a place called Tangkat. Had a great feast on durians. Oh yeah, right now is the durian season. Usually there are two types of taste – bitter and sweet. Personally, I prefer the bitter ones. For some durians, they have an alcoholic effect. Super nice. Creamy creamy. Yummy! So you can really eat till you drop when we went there during our lunch time! Got jin1 feng4, mao1 shan1 wang, D2 and so on. Those uncles and aunties ate like nobody’s business. I wanted to drink some water and I drank then the aunty beside me told me not to drink too much cos you will feel very full later. The uncles and aunties were amazing, really can eat! We picked and opened the durians. It was basically a durian plantation with rubber trees and rambutan trees. Fruitty lunch! I bought 2 packets of creamy frozen durian home. It was superb man. Imagine eating durian ice cream. yesss…..heaven! haha. You must try man. There was no limit to how many durians you can eat, it was basically like a durian buffet. I don’t have the stamina to go through that. hehe. Salute the uncles and aunties.

I was sharing with my colleagues (ang mos) about my durian trip, they showed me the …. look. Some can’t get over the smell to make the first heavenly bite. hehe. Perhaps is the asian taste.

Anyway, pictures speak louder than words.

Check out my durian biceps pics later!

Alrighty, enjoy the yummy durians during this season.

New habits in the making…

Recently, I’ve been consciously aware to work on my health. And frankly speaking, I love the idea of waking up early and sleeping early, not that we don’t know but we just somehow got bogged down by our work and projects that we somehow neglect our health in certain ways. How you take care of it now, it will show you how it has been taken care by you in time to come. In this physical realm, our body is the only place you need to live in.

Coming to a month of working in my new company now. And I’m creating new habits, step by step to make my life more effective and even more enjoyable. Made a pact with my buddy that from now till August 17 (half marathon), I’m going to make it a point to exercise 3x a week (depending on the distance I cover each week), would also like to do yoga to stretch the muscles which have been working hard too. During the weekends, I would do light workout like walkng or cycling type of exercise.

My cousin Niki and her boyfriend Andrewson are also on this journey to better health and greater living. It is especially encouraging to know that there are people who share similar thoughts. The more the merrier.

Am I happy doing what I do? Yes I am. :)

Just have to do what’s important to you, what you enjoy the most and it’ll be quite a bonus when you find another person or group of people who do something like you did. When you focus on what you do, somehow it creates the ripple effect where others might be influenced by your change they see in you.

Everything begins with you.

Only when you begin to change, you can only increase the possibility of your surroundings or people to evolve.

Just have to make the first step and keep walking. Have faith and trust life (or whatever religion you’re in) that it will show you the way.

And keep walking.

Cheers,

Zeoane

Walking towards a healthy lifestyle

Hey there! Guess what? It is my second day of sleeping at 11pm and waking up at 530am! yeah the feeling is great. It will be even better when I can sustain it for a long long time and it turns into a habit.

Just came back from yoga today and I really had a good stretch on my muscles! woohoo! Anyway, the yoga instructor, Dr Ram was reminding us to take care of several aspects.

1) Diet (don’t drink cold drinks at night especially)
2) Relaxation exercises (yoga, taichi and etc)
3) Breathing exercises (keep the nostrils dry and keep your lungs free from impurities
4) Positive thinking

I guess with the recent H1N1 cases which Singapore has over 100, that sounds scary. We really ought to take care of our own health.

So so…as the half marathon is drawing near, it would be a perfect excuse for me to get my act together. Sweat it out!!!!

Just keep running…

Love,
Zeoane

Season of pampering on self!

Heyhey…
Finally had a break from work so went to pamper myself with quite a few stuff – massaging, manicure, pedicure, yoga, body balance, jogging, sight-seeing, facial, catching up on drama series, shopping! I really enjoyed it!!! hehe! Most importantly, I had fun!

I’ve always seen our Singapore Flyer when I was having my bus ride home, but I never had a chance to go on that before. And I finally did! Gotten the VIP treatment where they served cocktail and nuts. I had a bird’s eye view on how Singapore looks like from the “top of the world”. It was not too bad to look at it in the broad day light, not forgetting the construction site that was on-going for the Integrated Resort. Other than that, not bad. For more details on the review, click here http://beautychubbs.com/

Will be updating the Aramsa Spa package soon, garden spa at bishan park… fabulous I must say! Watch the beautychubbs space! :D

Bionic-Printeet vs New Urban Male – your choice?

Hi everyone,

With the recent Aware saga, companies have been riding on the trend to launch the t-shirts with hilarious quotes. Though it has been feedback on the papers that these companies should STOP! Cos it would invite trouble or even make the people who said it feel embarassed, I’m just wondering if the ladies from AWARE’s (SG) previous exco thought of their impact of their words when it land on the public? I mean what sort of reactions would they be expecting from the public when they said it? That the public would listen to them cos of their authority and how loud they have projected their voice?

Hmm..I guess times have changed! I don’t think it work that way any more.  An act of impulse on their part? Perhaps. At least Josie and other members kept their cool, pretty gracious on that. Sadly, those who said what they had to might have to “suffer” the consequence of their words in which they spoke.

Anyway, I’ve found 2 companies competing against each other on the sale of t-shirts based on the hilarious quotes from the AWARE (SG) saga. If you happen to be benefitting from this saga, perhaps you ought to donate a portion out to the AWARE (SG) association.

Take a look and see which design you are in favour of?

Contestant 1: Bionic-Printeet

shutup1

Price at S$29.90 (donating 70% of profit to AWARESG)

Contestant 2: New Urban Male

num

Price at S$49.90

Do you have your conclusion yet?

Personally, I prefer Bionic-Printeet cos their design is much better (font and colour) and more affordable. Big plus for them is for a good cause. I feel it stands out better.

Which one do you prefer?

Cheers,

Zeoane

Hi all,
When I read the papers on 3 May, the huge sage over AWARE (SG) have caught my attention – public’s reaction and stand on this. I always thought that Singaporeans are apathetic when it comes to such affairs in society. But people especially women no longer tolerate this but decided to stand up and speak out. It made me realized especially when I pretty much belong to the apathetic group, to see that how a constitution which made up of similar bacgrounds (same church and beliefs), the constitution could no longer be secular, what sort of impact and influence it could have on society over time? And that is dangerous when we could be run by religious beliefs and values to fulfill their personal agenda. And society could possibly be manipulated that way. This can’t possibly work in a multi-religious and multi-racial society.

If you have absolutely no idea what is going on, find out from here:

http://we-are-aware.sg/what-happened

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFgyeBDXPHw

Perhaps the younger generation of women in Singapore have taken our rights and privileges for granted and thought we are all entitled to what we deserved all these years, we have probably forgotten those women back then who stood for us so that we can enjoy such privileges and rights right now. And AWARE stands for that. Women have came a long way, look at their roles, responsibilities and positions they stand in society today which could be on par or even surpass men.

Good that this event happened, if not for Josie’s team, we wouldn’t possibly wake up from our apathetic world. This saga somehow allow the voices of women and men to be heard, women to stand up and speak out on what this organization originally stands for women.

                                                 Trust, Respect, Choice.

With Josie’s team spending $90K during their 5 weeks in office, let’s recoup some of them by showing your support to get the infamous quotes printed on t-shirts (male and female t-shirts available).

Vicki, the Bionic woman has collaborated with Dionis, Printeet founder, to launch the t-shirt series. 70% of the profits would go to AWARE as part of contribution.

New Habit 1: Success on Day 10

Hey all,
Managed to go for my runs last Saturday and this morning. Ran 4km at 28.18mins last Saturday and 4.23km at 33.38mins. Gotta train up more to get my body used to such intensity. After my first run, my body protested and demanded for rest the next day. Muscleaches!!! OMG!

Been a good sign lately to wake up at 630am almost every day. It would be good if I can begin my runs at 630am so that I have more time free up in the morning to do my readings or something to enrich my mind.

It is going to be a short week this week cos my company is giving us off on Friday to celebrate Vesak day. Whoopie!!!

Looking forward to my 4 more days of work before I go for a short break.

Probably I can exercise more and read more! haha. Just love to stay at home and do the things I want. Sometimes, living like a hermit is quite nice. haha. “Lonely…I am so lonely..” I’m pretty good at entertaining myself. haha.

Till then,
